Just a few days before Spring Break in 2010, we were about to embark on an 8 day tour when Joey's van finally called it quits. You can imagine feeling deflated by thinking you're going to be having the time of your life for a week straight one moment, and then the next be stuck at home with no structure instead. Obviously not the most important topic we've touched on lyrically, but this is one of just a handful of songs I've ever written to completion in one sitting, so here it is.

Tell ya what I wish I was doing this spring break
Sweatin' it out in a van with these sick dudes all week
Drivin' to a new town every night and day
Messin' these same songs up different ways
But the van fell through so we're taking it out on you

You know it’s not to meet girls or to take over world
And it’s not because we hate our hometown
You got some lofty ideals about where ya wanna go
We just wanted to get out of Chicago
But that's what it's like
Four dumb little kids all grown up inside
One dumb little dream to chase down before we die
But we should be so lucky to have doubt
that we'll ever go on tour
I'll just keep on spacing out
cuz I broke up with my girlfriend for this shit
